You can't talk Marshall Football without mentioning the new Marshall movie. Set for release later this year. Former head Coach Jack Engyel and former quarterback Reggie Oliver were both in Charleston to talk about "We Are Marshall".

This movie is definitely generating a lot of enthusiasm from both fans and the men who were a part of the 1971 football team.

They say they're very eager to go see this movie in December despite one disappointment.

We showed both men “The Making of the Marshall Movie” featurette on the Internet.

It’s the first time both got to see this much of "We Are Marshall".

Jack Lengyel is the former head coach of the young thundering herd. And sitting beside him: Reggie Oliver. A former quarterback who helped lead his team from ashes to glory.

Jack Lengyel, "I'm just hoping that all comes together and I'm confident it will."

Both men agree the new Marshall movie captures the essence of the young Thundering Herd rising from tragedy. But there's a hint of disappointment about one major play portrayed in the film.

Jack Lengyel, "It's a play on the walls of our Hall of Fame. Part of our history and legacy, of course, we were a little disappointed that that play was not in as the final play in the film."

What Reggie Oliver told us the original, the real play made back in 1971, couldn't be scripted any better.

Both Lengyel and Oliver say they're confident the director and producers got the true meaning right! This movie isn't all about football but a community coming together to rebuild after all is lost.

Coach Lengyel told us today he would take the young Thundering Herd to the cemetery before practices. And remind his team what they were playing for! There is a scene depicting that in the movie.

Coach Lengyel, Oliver, and former members of the Herd will meet in Huntington to watch the premiere in December.
