A Marshall University football player was arrested over the weekend.

Defensive back Geremy Rodamer is charged with obstructing and disorderly conduct.

Both charges are misdemeanors.

Police say the incident happened outside some clubs along 4th Avenue in Huntington.

Police tried to disperse a crowd there.

Rodamer was approached but yelled at an officer and tried to get away from officers.

Eight people in all were arrested.

Two former Herd players were also arrested.

Former Marshall linebackers Dionte Wilson and Charles Tynes were also charged with disorderly conduct and obstructing an officer.

Tynes will have an October 23rd hearing in Cabell County Magistrate Court while Rodamer and Wilson are scheduled to appear at hearings the following day.

Rodamer comes from Morgantown and is due to play against WVU in Morgantown on September 2nd.

Coach Mark Snyder has not said what punishment he would hand out or if Rodamer would play in that first game of the year, which would be a homecoming for him.
