CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- As thrilling as a big wedding ceremony can be, getting there takes a lot of work and planning.
During the weekend, the Bridal Expo in Charleston steered brides-to-be in the right direction. The sluggish economy, however, has impacted the bridal business.
Mary Hatfield, for example, is planning her wedding soon, but said she's being picky about what she chooses and how much she spends.
"You have to make priorities and will pick where I'll spend," she said.
The Bridal Expo in Charleston gave brides-to-be everything they'll need to prepare for the big day -- from ice sculptures, cakes and limousines to the wedding gown.
One local wedding photographer said she's been lucky regarding the economic slowdown.
"So far, it hasn't affected me," Holly Vaughn-Farrell said. "But our 2010 bookings might be affected."
If you missed the Bridal Expo in Charleston, you can visit the next Bridal Expo in Huntington. It is scheduled from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 18.
