MILTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- An overturned tractor-trailer slowed traffic in eastern Cabell County Friday morning. The crash happened in the eastbound lanes of I-64 about two miles past the Milton exit just before 9 a.m.

Witnesses say the semi was swerving right before it crashed. The truck came to a rest on the right shoulder. The truck is carrying cardboard.

The two people in the semi were taken to a local hospital with what’s believed to be minor injuries.

One eastbound lane was closed while crews removed the truck.

I know a guy that said he was on the scene and helped the 2 people and their dog out of the truck right before it caught fire. He said he had to kick out the windshield to get the dog out.
