PORTSMOUTH, Ohio (WSAZ) -- Detectives with the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office have arrested and charged a 17-year-old girl in connection with a series of sexual assaults at a home daycare in Portsmouth, Ohio.
Sheriff Marty Donini says detectives received a complaint from the mother of one of the victims. Donini says their investigation found that the victims, ranging in age from one to five years old, had been sexually assaulted multiple times while at the Toddlers Haven Daycare.
The sheriff says the series of assaults happened over the past six months.
Donini says the suspect is related to owner of the daycare. She has been charged with four counts of rape, along with seven counts of gross sexual imposition.
The teen is being held at the Scioto County Detention Center pending a hearing in Scioto County Juvenile Court.
