The Greenup County Sheriff’s Office says the crash happened around 1 am Saturday on US 23 near McKell Elementary in South Shore.

Deputies say 45-year old Vivian Gullett of Greenup died in the crash; she was passenger in the car driven by 39-year old William Gullett also of Greenup.

Investigators say Mr. Gullett lost control of his SUV and crashed into a telephone pole.

Mr. Gullett is currently listed in serious, but stable condition at Cabell Huntington Hospital.

This is such a tragedy, what hits me so hard is when I think about how many people drink and drive and get lucky and dont hurt anyone, If Hound could take this back I know he would and he would never have hurt Vivian on purpose for anything, I can see both sides of the argument, it is sad and heart wrenching but at the same time you just want to shake these people who drive impaired because our loved ones and kids are out on the same highways, I know this family will never be the same a wife, mother, grandmother gone, its just so sad, i agree with whoever wrote how many times has others escaped such a tragedy, I think we need to be vigilant in our own lives and let the people we all know that drink and drive that this could happen to them, I know I never dreamed someone I know would be going through this, Vivian loved her husband and kids and the grand baby so much and I pray that they will all bond and help one another through, Hound, we love all of yall your in our prayers!!!!

to Anonymous on Jan 19, 2009 at 08:28 AM ur right there is suppose to be consequences but dont u think living with the fact that you killed your wife is enough i know this family and they are good people everyone makes mistakes this is a mistake that he made and will have to liive with for the rest of his life. if they do put him in jail for this that is going to leave his kids alone without there mother and without there father they need somone. i pray for this family and all the people on here that have no sympathy for this family
