BECKLEY, W.Va. (AP) - Services will be held Friday for retired Raleigh County Circuit Judge Charles Berkley Lilly.

Tom Truman, a Raleigh County assistant prosecutor and family friend, says Lilly died at the Bowers Hospice House in Beckley on Saturday, his 86th birthday.

A statement from Melton Mortuary, which is in charge of arrangements, didn't list a cause of death.

Lilly served as an assistant U.S. attorney, a state lawmaker and as Raleigh County prosecutor. He was elected to three terms as a circuit judge before returning to private law practice in 1988.

Lilly is survived by his wife of 61 years, Anna Lee Bowyer Lilly; two daughters, Ellen Lilly File and Kerry Lilly Mullins; and four granddaughters.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at United Methodist Temple in Beckley.
