CARTER COUNTY, Ky. (WSAZ) -- Curvy roads are to blame for an accident that sent two people to the hospital Monday.
The accident happened on Highway 174 near Lawton in Carter County. Kentucky State Police said Jessica Skaggs was driving when she mis-negotiated a curve, went off the road and hit a tree.
Skaggs -- along with her passenger Kimberly Cornett -- had to be extricated from the car. They were flown to St. Mary's Medical Center in Huntington, W.Va., where both were in critical condition Monday night.

I certainly hope they are Ok, but curvy roads are not at fault. It is the driver's responsibility to slow down and keep control. The road didn't suddenly curve and cause the wreck, it's always been curvy. Rt 10 is curvy as are numerous roads in the area. People need to maintain a safe speed on those roads.
