KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- When the U.S. presidency officially switches hands, President-elect Barack Obama is hoping his stimulus plan quickly will be put into action.

Obama's American Recovery and Reinvestment Plan is being batted back and forth throughout Washington -- a plan that could mean as much as $800 billion dollars in tax cuts and targeted spending.

Some West Virginia counties are hoping they're not left out. The Kanawha County Commission already had its wish list ready -- everything from a new public library to substandard bridges and water and sewer projects.

It is not alone. Putnam County Commissioner Gary Tillis said the commission has asked its engineers to get several water line projects ready.

The state also has several requests ready for possible federal assistance.

Don't forget Wayne County. I'm sure there is plenty they could use.
