LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) -- Kentucky official says the number of power outages has dropped to about 90,000 across the state, down from a high of more than 769,000.
Public Service Commission spokesman Andrew Melnykovych says the Saturday estimate includes 52,700 customers of Louisville Gas & Electric and Kentucky Utilities. He said he had no new estimates for the Tennessee Valley Authority, which made up about 32,000 outages Friday, and 6,000 municipal utility customers reported still out Friday.
The deadly storm dropped snow and ice across Kentucky starting January 27th officials have attributed 30 deaths to storm-related causes.
Some 101 counties and 75 cities have declared states of emergency, and President Barack Obama on Thursday issued a major disaster declaration for the state.

Its my dads electrical service AND HE IS ON BUDGET AND HE PAYS MORE ON HIS ACCOUNT THAN THE MONTHLY SERVICE ACTUALLY IS.Now to update: after finally getting the ok from AEP last friday for "us" to cut the tree off the pole and line we had plenty of help thank god and was able to get his electric back on yesturday feb 10 09 exactly 3 weeks thats 21 days he was with out power, I pray for the other people who are still with out, and the dangerous weather we are still facing. I would love to be able to get my dad a generator but we cannot afford the 4000 to get the one he needs to run his oxygen machine and the lights and what ever else he may need.We were told if we place a wood burning stove in his trailer the insurance would either sky rocket or they would release him,he is on fixed income,my brothers and sister do all we can.
my power was off, thankfully not for that long, but everyone should have a backup heat system because no one can help the events caused by an Act of God.
The billing comment could be she is on a budget, I am and I have to pay a direct amount every month regardless what I use....
