All Lanes of U.S. 23 Near Louisa Now Open
Emergency dispatchers tells WSAZ.com that a tanker truck overturned south of Louisa Thursday evening.

Dispatchers say the southbound slow lane in the area of the crash will remain closed until crews can complete the cleanup.

They gave no timetable on when it will reopen.



ORIGINAL STORY
LAWRENCE COUNTY, Ky. (WSAZ) -- Part of U.S. 23 is shut down south of Louisa.

An emergency dispatcher tells WSAZ.com that a tanker truck overturned Thursday evening.

For a while, both north and south bound lanes were closed, but around 2 a.m., WSAZ learned that both north bound lanes, as well as one south bound lane reopened.

Emergency and highway crews are on the scene cleaning up the mess.

The name and condition of the truck driver haven't been released.

I WAS THERE AT THE WRECK AND HOW THE DRIVER LIVED I DON'T KNOW. THE LORD WAS REALLY WATCHING OVER HIM. THE TRUCK WAS A MESS. IT TOOK FOR EVER TO GET THAT THING OUT OF THE HOLLER. I WISH THE DRIVER THE BEST.

Everyone on here was confused on the road being open due to the fact that it was reported all night that it was near the power plant and then Zelda. Someone either told WSAZ wrong or they were screwed up.

I grew up with the driver and his wife they are good Christian people and are always ready to help others. He is in intensive care at this time but is expected to recover. Please keep him in your prayers.
