CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Black History Month may be over, but the learning never ends.

Saturday night about a dozen churches and other community groups got together for the annual Black History Bowl.

It's a tradition at the Charleston YMCA. Participants come armed with the knowledge that shaped their past while working to keep history alive.

Jim Harris helped organize the event. He told WSAZ.com, "I do believe that with the knowledge and roots the kids get from programs such as this, it gives them the knowledge to become whatever they may want to be."
