CHESAPEAKE, Ohio (WSAZ) -- One person was hurt in a three vehicle crash on U.S. 52 near Chesapeake.
The crash involved a semi, pickup and a car. It happened in the west bound lanes at the Charley Creek Road intersection. This is right in front of the K-Mart Plaza shopping center.
The driver of the pickup was taken to a local hospital.
Witnesses say the driver of semi didn't see the red light at the intersection and slammed into the truck. Material that was in the back of the pickup flew out and damaged a nearby car.
There was heavy fog in the area at the time of the crash.
One lane closed for about an hour following the accident.

Since I'm not from this area, let me be the first to point out something that locals may not realize. No where else I have ever lived had stoplights on the Highways! Seriously.. this was very strange for me. Here I am coming in from the west, cruising along at 55mph and then all of a sudden there are stoplights on a highway!! Is this normal for you?! I'm not giving excuses for the McD truck, but it is kind of strange.. However, there are flashing lights when the stoplight is red, but it was SUPER foggy. I read one post on here claiming the fog was not that bad. Oh, yes it was! I could not see ANY cars until they were approx. 20 ft. away. The semi tried to stop, just a little too late! I do hope the man in the truck makes a full recovery (and maybe a free dump) : )
Im an emt i see people trying to turn the truth i dont know what happen but im sure that the semi didnt decide to go out and try to kill some guy in a truck come on people.
