CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Spring has sprung, and that means the first round of the Kanawha County clean-up is underway.

Saturday residents brought their old junk, and were able to get rid of it for free.

The goal here is to put the litter where it belongs, rather than "littering" the landscape.

If you missed this weekends clean-up there is no need to worry.

On March 28th you can take your trash to the dumpsters set up near Elkview Middle School.

Hazardous materials, gas tanks, paint and propane are not accepted.

Great idea. I am tired of riding my 4-wheeler to no man's land and seeing an old stove sitting in the woods. Some people are lazy and trashy.
