Police Chase Ended in Crash

An elderly woman is in intensive care after a police chase in downtown Charleston.

Police Chief Brent Webster says the chase started when undercover officers tried to arrest a drug dealer. The crash happened on Bigley Avenue on Charleston's West Side.

Witnesses say the high speed chase actually went through a Go-Mart Gas Station. Police have arrested the driver, William Ware.

Police say while running from police he slammed into a jeep, injuring the woman inside.
