CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - The West Virginia Senate has approved a bill bringing regulations of gambling at the famed Greenbrier resort in line with the rules for the state's three racetrack casinos.

The bill, which was passed with a single dissenting vote, would also create a benefit fund that could be used to pay the cost of employee benefits at the resort, which filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy this month.

Voters in Greenbrier County approved gambling at the resort in November, but no games have yet begun. Bethesda, Md.-based hotel giant Marriott is willing to buy the 6,500-acre resort for up to $130 million, pending court approval and an agreement with The Greenbrier's nine labor unions.
