HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) - ESPN is reporting quarterback Byron Leftwich has signed with the Buccaneers.

Leftwich was a free agent this offseason, and has said he wants to compete for a starting job. He will join Luke McCown, Josh Johnson, and Brian Griese in Tampa Bay.

It's a return to the Sunshine State for Leftwich, who started for Jacksonville from 2003-2006 out of Marshall.

The Washington, D.C., native won a super bowl ring last season as a backup with Pittsburgh.

MU fans should hold their heads high, expecially within our state. Look how many outstanding acheivers we have in the NFL compared to WVU. Go HERD! Keep up the good work Chad and Byron!
