Police Promote Amateur Fighting
Usually police frown upon people getting into tussles, but at one event they encourage it.

BOYD COUNTY, Ky. (WSAZ) -- It was right hooks and cross jabs Saturday night at the Boyd County Middle School, where the second Amateur Boxing Night was in full swing.
Kids 8 to 18 got in the ring to face each other for some friendly competition.
This was not a boys only event. A few ladies got in on the action as well.
The event was sponsored by the Ashland Boyd Cattletsburg Police Athletic League.
The winner of each match got a trophy. Organizers say having fun is a big deal, but the main idea behind the activities is to keep kids on the right track, which means saying no to negative influences.
"In this day and age, unfortunately you strive to try to give our youth as many reasons to say no as possible,” Boyd County Sheriff Terry Keelin said, “and if all of this effort can keep one youth off drugs or out of prison, then it's worth it."

Teaching kids to fight, kids on drugs, what's next mighty sheriff!!
To Punisher: You really show your ignorance. This is about kids, not you! This is something positive. Regardless to who does it or how it is done. This amazes me anymore to hear people complain about this and that all the time. People sit and bash the police all the time. Put aside your problems with them and support this idea that these officers are trying to make a difference in a lot of kids lives. I noticed a comment also which was true to the upmost. Why dont punisher put the real name on here instead of being a "Keyboard Warrior" like a lot are. This program is open to "ALL KIDS" who want to do it. This is no different to having boxing lessons or karate lessons or any other physical sport. This is not by any means promoting improper conduct or criminal behavior. This could be a career for some kids. Give these officers a break for doing something for this community. If you dont like it, you go and create something positive, until then lay back and zip it!Go work "Law Enforcement"
