This can be a busy time of year for firefighters because all the leaves on the ground can fuel forest fires. On Saturday, the community went to say thanks to the Lakewood Fire Department and learn more about what firefighter men and women do to keep them safe.
No, it was not a real emergency. It was only a stunt for the 2nd Annual Fire Prevention Day at the Lakewood Volunteer Fire Department. The fire department is home to seventeen men and women, and the event was an opportunity for the community to get to know them. The community also had the chance to see what the life of a fire fighter entails.
The fire department had some help from the St. Albans Police Department.
