Crash Victim's Daughter Speaks

OCTOBER 13, 2006 -- The daughter of a woman killed in a crash involving a Ohio Highway Patrol vehicle said the findings of the investigation make her sick.

Tiffany Dobbs, the daughter of Lori Smith, talked exclusively with WSAZ after the highway patrol said Trooper Joshua Risner was intoxicated when he crashed into Smith's car in Gallia County last month.

The patrol says Risner lost control of the crusier, crossed the center line, and the rear end of his cruiser hit Lori Smith's car. Risner, his partner Sgt. Dale Holcomb, and Smith all died in the crash after the vehicles caught fire.

Right now, the patrol is looking into when and where Risner consumed alcohol.

Dobbs said the whole situation is hypocritical.

"They expect us to obey the law, they expect us to go by the guidelines that they set, then again they're not doing what they're asking us and trying to prevent us from doing," Dobbs said.
