Any woman who is a wife and mother will tell you it’s not easy. It's a full-time job that allows little time for anything else, but one local author who makes time for her passion of writing.

Loretta Craig is from Flatwood, Kentucky. Her family always knew she loved to write. She has been married for 21 years, but only started writing novels in the last few years. Her passion that has stayed with her through the years has turned into four published novels.

“I didn't set out to write romance novels,” said Craig. “I just had some extra time one day and I thought, I’ll just sit down and write. I had no idea what I was going to put on paper.”

“I tend to write about strong women, because I think women should be independent in their own way,” said Craig. “This is about a doctor who faces an identity crisis who finds out she's not who she thinks she is.”

Loretta has won several awards for her work, but she says awards aren't the most important part of her work.

“Success means a lot of things to different people,” said Craig. “Money of course is important, I would love to be successful financially with it, but when someone says they read it, and really liked it, and I know they really liked it, that's what’s important to me.”

She’s a wife and mother with a passion for writing and her family.

Loretta's books, The Mystery of Emily Quillen, The Controller, Illusions and Amber Ways, can be purchased online through major book carriers.
