HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) –Huntington Mayor Kim Wolfe called a meeting of all city employees Friday morning.
The mayor said that as far as he could tell this was the first time all city employees have ever met at one time.
He thanked employees for their extra efforts to make the city operate better.
Mayor Wolfe said his desire is not to change what the city has been doing, despite the tough economic times.
The mayor also told workers he has no intention of privatizing city services. He did not take questions from the employees.
The meeting began at 8 a.m. and lasted about 30 minutes.
Cameras were not allowed in the meeting, but reporters were allowed to sit in.
WSAZ.com spoke with a handful of employees after the meeting. They said it was a waste of time and took them away from their jobs, but they did not want to appear on camera criticizing the mayor.

Mike, you have know Idea what you are talking about.Get a life and stay out of the lively hoods of City workers.Privatizing is not the answer. If the public only knew what was going on.It is so corrupt in this City and people are being blinded. There would be plenty of money if it was being spent correctly.I am talking for example buying things at three times, and also paying triple figures for things not even received.Wow!! if people only could see.
I am a City employee and it was a waist of time.We also got a letter stating they was only going to honor some things in contract. They are taking our vacation and sick time, meaning we cant earn it no more. They gave no raises because of no money but gave their self 10,000 extra per year. I say WE WILL WALK SOON, get your horns ready Huntington union people and supporters.
Seems WSAZ3 is surpressing the publics right to free speech again today.
