More packaged salads made by a Wayne County, WV company are being recalled in states including Ohio because of possible contamination.
The government says containers of macaroni salad, sweet slaw and
cole slaw produced by Ballard's Farm Sausage of Wayne may be
contaminated with bacteria that can cause serious or fatal
infections in young children or the elderly.
The U-S Food and Drug Administration says consumers should take the products back to the store for a refund.
The affected products include Ballard's Farm 24-ounce Amish
macaroni salad, Ballard Farm's 24-ounce Amish sweet slaw, Ballard's
Farm 12-ounce cole slaw and Food City 12-ounce cole slaw.
Last week, a similar recall of Ballard's egg salad was announced.
