SOUTH CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A woman from Tornado is behind bars charged with first degree murder after police say she hit a man with her car and then took off.
It happened on Habitat Street in South Charleston just after 8:30 Thursday evening.
South Charleston detectives say Mary Michelle Strojia of Tornado is charged with killing Robert D. Richardson, 54, after a drug transaction turned into an argument. After Strojia hit Robert with her car, police say she took off--but officers were able to catch up with her several hours later.
Robert was taken to the hospital where he later died.
Other charges are pending against Strojia.
Dispatchers tell WSAZ.com the accident happened on Habitat Street just after 8:30 Thursday evening.
The man's condition is not known at this time.
Dispatchers say the driver of the van took off after the accident.
Police are looking for a White Chevy Astro Van with Red Stripes.
