Family, Friends & Colleagues Remember Don Maynard
The floor of the Big Sandy Arena in Huntington is filled with family and friends of Cabell County Magistrate Don Maynard.

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) --The floor of the Big Sandy Arena in Huntington is filled with family and friends of Cabell County Magistrate Don Maynard.
Funeral services for the former Huntington Police Officer are taking place at the arena Tuesday afternnoon.
Maynard died Friday night of an apparent heart attack.
His death comes just 6 months after he was elected Magistrate.
Prior to that, the 52-year-old had been a Huntington Police Officer for more than 20 years.
Tuesday's funeral service was moved to the arena so more people could attend and pay their respects..

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Recently elected Cabell County Magistrate Don Maynard died Friday night.
Magistrate Johnny McCallister tells WSAZ Maynard died from a massive heart attack.
Maynard was elected to his seat in November. He was 52 years old. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 pm Monday at Beard Mortuary in Huntington. Funeral services will be at 2pm Tuesday. Burial will be at Forest Memorial Park.

I just realized a few months ago that Don had passed, needless to say it was a shock, I spent many nights riding with him on duty, hanging out with him, fishing with him, if ever there was a model for a police officer, father, husband and friend, Don defined it. I will miss you my friend.
i meet don a few yrs ago n he was a great man he was der the whole time for a friend of mine had cancer even after she passed he alwayz would come up to me and hug me and ask how i was doing!!! he was soo sweet and he also was good with my brother when he was in trouble (his younger yrs) i just cant believe whatz happened to him its shocking!!! he i think is the best police officer i had ever meet!!! he will be very well missed R.I.P. DON MAYNARD your family and friends are in my prayers sorry for your alls loss much love to you all marissa
I've meet don a few times and talk with him and seen him around on the streets my thoughts go out to his family and friends he will be missed everyday it will take a long time to walk past his office and someone else in there they can never replace him but i hope they will be just as nice and honest person that don was
