GETAWAY, Ohio (WSAZ) -- Schools out so emergency crews have moved in for the weekend at Collins Career Center.
Dozens of emergency responders got together to practice their emergency plan at both the Collins Career Center and Rock Hill High School.
It all looked and sounded very real. First responders say at the end of the day it's all about keeping the students safe.
Steve Lambert is the principal at Rock Hill High School, he tells WSAZ.com:
"I think it's just a good idea to review what policies you do have and look at different scenarios and try to improve on them constantly and upgrade your plans so that if something would happen you would have good communications and have a safe environment for our kids."
About 200 first responders Lawrence County and surrounding areas took part.

When we voted Jeff Lawless in as Sheriff, that was the best choice this county has made in YEARS! Now if we can cleanup some of the dirty politics in the Rock Hill Scool system, it will be even better. How we can't wait till July 31st! Once they select the right person to fill the superintendents job, and its for our childrens sake, then we have done well. Keep up the good work Steve...Maybe you should take the "Big Chair"!? Jeff#1 and Jeff#2, you guys are the best! Theres always a few flaws when you inherit someone else problems, but you by far are exceeding those early critics! Theres aways a few "Making a name" for themselves in your profession, and you have dealt with them wonderfully. Keep up the good work! Thank You to ALL the county First Responders. Some counties don't have what we have. The complaint I have is that you have to be an EMT to work at 911, but you don't have to be one to work for SEOEMS! Thats STUPID! But look whos behind that as well! Ayway, Keep it up & THANKS!
THANKS TO JEFF LAWLESS AND MIKE BOSTER AND ALL TO MAKE OUR COUNTY SAFER
I HOPE THE COUNTY KEEPS THIS TRAINING UP SO POLICE FIRE AND EMS CAN GET AND STAY ON THE SAME PAGE,I WAS IN THIS TRAINING AND IT WAS VERY EDUCATIONAL TO MYSELF AND TO ALL THAT WAS THERE,JUST HOPE WE NEVER HAVE TO PUT OUR TRAINING TO USE
