HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- The nearly weekend long boil water advisory throughout Huntington and parts of Lawrence County, Ohio, meant lots of frustration for restaurant owners and customers.

At Uno's Chicago Grill, watermelon blueberry salad, lobster and shrimp scampi are among new menu items designed to lure in customers. So you can imagine the frustration of last weekend's water-main break and boil water advisory that kept customer's away.

Kerry Harper's the manager there.

"You can't wash dishes," he said. "That means you can't cook because you don't have any clean pans. There's no drinking water. You have your soda stations that work off the water stations, as well, so if you have no water, you can't serve any drinks."

The drop in business was so severe, according to Harper, that the restaurant plans to file an insurance claim for the loss in revenue.

While Huntington's water-main break was fixed in a matter of hours after Friday's incident, the boil water advisory lingered until 8 p.m. Sunday.

The Pita Pit in Huntington closed early because business was slow.
People just stayed home.

"The numbers were down a bit because of having to close early" owner Nathan Myers said. "But hopefully we're planning to come in strong for next weekend when the soccer tournament's in town."

A youth soccer tournament is coming to Barboursville later in the week. That tournament alone could have an economic impact of $12 million on the region.
