Update: Thursday Evening
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Huntington Police Chief Skip Holbrook tells WSAZ.com the city will use the newly passed nuisance law for the first next week.

Thursday, officers arrested two people at an apartment on 5th Avenue. Neighbors says it's not the first time they've had trouble in that area.

Chief Holbrook says the city will start Monday on contacting the apartment's owners in an effort to end alleged criminal activity in this area.

"We'll generate a letter to the responsible party," Chief Holbrook said. "They'll have to meet with us to discuss what that nuisance is, which is drug activity, and they'll have to demonstrate to us that they're going to abate that problem."

The law allows the city to fine or even attempt to seize the property for repeated criminal activity in the area.
