Funeral Today for Longtime Huntington Sports Writer
Family, friends and fellow journalists gathered Thursday to say goodbye to Ernie Salvatore.

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Family, friends and fellow journalists are gathering Thursday to say goodbye to Ernie Salvatore.
He funeral is being held at St Joeseph Catholic Church in Huntington.
Ernie died on July 3 at the age of 87. Ernie was most remembered for his many years as the Executive Sports Editor at the Herald-Dispatch.

HUNTINGTON, W.Va (WSAZ) -- Longtime Hearld Dispatch writer Ernie Salvatore was found dead early Friday morning.
The Hearld Dispatch confirms that Salvatore died in his sleep. He was 87-years-old.
Salvatore was a sports writer for the paper for more than six decades.
