5-Year-Old Killed in Crash

A five-year-old boy was killed, while his parents, two sisters and a brother were hurt in a single vehicle crash in Lewis County, Ky.

LEWIS COUNTY, Ky. (WSAZ) --A five-year-old boy was killed, while his parents, two sisters and brother were hurt in a single vehicle crash in Lewis County, Ky.

The crash happened on Ky. 8 in an area known as Dugan’s Curve, which is east of Vanceburg, about 4:30 p.m. Saturday.

Quinton Brown of Garrison was killed. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Quinton was a passenger in the car driven by his father, Steven Brown, 23, of Garrison.

Kentucky State Police say Steven Brown lost control in a curve, went across the center line, then over an embankment, before hitting a tree.

Brown’s wife, Shyla, 24, was hurt along with the couples 6-year-old daughter, 2-year-old son and 1-year-old daughter.

Steven Brown was airlifted to Cabell Huntington Hospital in Huntington where he was treated and later released.

Shyla Brown and the one-year-old were treated and released from a Portsmouth hospital

The 2-year-old is being treated at a Columbus hospital, while the 6-year-old remains at Cabell Huntington Hospital in serious condition.

There is no word if the family was wearing seat belts.
