HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A Huntington restaurant owner filed for bankruptcy protection this week.
Chili Willi's and Masa Development, LLC filed for Chapter 11 Reorganization on Tuesday.
“We’ve found ourselves financially, during this economic slowdown, with a stressed balance sheet that needs to have its debt restructured. Once we go through this reorganization I feel we will not only survive this downturn, but when the economy improves we will thrive again,” Owner Ron Smith said in a prepared statement.
Smith says the restaurant will continue to operate as normal during the reorganization process. Smith hopes to emerge from this protection in a few months.

This is simple. Bad location overpriced food bad economy plenty of competition with equally good food for lower prices = fail.
I used to fequent the 4th Ave locale once a week, but now the food isn't that great and the prices are through the roof...and the "outside" area seating is way too uncomfortable....
Ron and the Huntington Urban Development gang shut down the Chi-Chi's that was on the old Superblock to avoid the competition. Now we have a bank at Pullman that really draws a crowd!! Wonder if that bank is handling the bankruptcy!? I agree with several posters on here. The food and atmosphere used to be great and reasonably priced, now it's not even average and twice the price of the "non-local" businesses. The new place at the foot of the 17th street west bridge has great food!
