HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- No longer will Huntington residents stand back and watch. It’s their time to take back their neighborhoods.

Teaming up with the Weed and Seed program, the Huntington Police Department, neighborhood associations, churches and local businesses are organizing a "night out" event.

The event is scheduled for Tuesday, August 4th from 6-9 at the Barnett Center.

According to a press release, National Night Out, (NNO) is a vehicle for everyday people to empower themselves in their communities.

For 25 years, America has thrown NNO barbeques, candlelight vigils, camp outs and other events to stand against crime.
