CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Kanawha County Judge Irene Berger is keeping a low profile after President Barack Obama nominated her for a seat on the federal bench.
Judge Berger said in statement Thursday she is thankful for the president’s nomination and she looks forward to her senate confirmation hearing.
If appointed, Judge Berger would be leaving behind her seat in Kanawha County- and Governor Manchin is responsible for appointing a replacement judge.
It’s an appointment that is in high demand behind the scenes, but few are willing to say publicly how much they want this seat.
So far three names have been tossed around as a possible replacement:
Kanawha County Delegate and lawyer Carrie Webster, Former U.S. Assistant Attorney Dwayne Tinsley and lawyer Joanna Tabit.
Tabit ran unsuccessfully for circuit court judge twice before and says she would be delighted to be appointed.
“I would be honored to be considered for that position and absolutely if tapped for it, I would be honored to serve,” Tabit said.
Delegate Carrie Webster says she’s honored to have her name in consideration, but says she is happy serving in the House of Delegates.
However if appointed Webster says it would be a hard offer to turn down.
There is no word yet when Judge Berger’s senate confirmation hearing will take place.

I repeatedly invited Carrie Webster to attend a public meeting and she never had the decency to respond to my invitation. I can't imagine her as a judge. Her only cause is herself and her agenda. Please Gov. Manchin, no to Carrie Webster.
I have wrote Carrie Webster several times n the past seeking her assistance and she has yet to respond to my letters. To not even respond shows a lack of consideration. I feel she would be a poor choice as a judge. She seems to be interested in her own agenda only.
ANY ONE BUT WEBSTER!!!!!!!!!!!
