UPDATE: Thursday, July 16 @ 10:00am
COMFORT, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Boone County Sheriff's Deputies believe alcohol or drugs may have played a role in a deadly crash near Comfort.
The accident happened around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday on Route 3 near Comfort.
According to a news release from Sheriff Rodney Miller, Martin L. England, 59, of Raleigh County, was killed in the crash.
Miller tells WSAZ.com England was headed west on Route 3 when Rebecca Workman, 33, of Seth, lost control of her car, crossed into the westbound lanes and hit England's car.
England was pronounced dead at the scene. Workman, along with her passenger, Gary Jarrell, 38, of Seth, were both taken to CAMC General.
Miller says investigators believe that drugs or alcohol may have been a factor in the crash. Charges may be filed in the death once the investigation is complete.
Investigators will be back on the scene Thursday to reconstruct the accident.
As of Thursday morning, Workman was still under evaluation at CAMC General. No word on Jarrell's condition.
Route 3 was closed for several hours while crews cleaned up the accident.

If you check the sheriff has 2 deputies working with drug task forces, one state and another with DEA. But at least you acknowledge that their efforts are shot down in the judicial system. Need to check on Mr. Bazzle in prosecutor's office. He has never won a case in court. That's pitiful.

Get some facts folks, the judicial system is at fault in these cases, not law enforcement officers. Police bring them in and courts let them go. I know this personally cause I've had it happen to people who hurt my family. Don't blame the sheriff for what the courthouse doesn't do. Find out for yourself instead of sitting in your ivory tower criticizing the rest of the world. Those guys are trying their best, and get little or no help at the courthouse, and from people in the community. I don't know why they even try. I appreciate their efforts.

If people think this girl is going to be locked up 'for a very long time', then they need to think again! Everyone needs to do some research on DUI deaths & the law. I can't explain it myself, but look up the name "Christopher Allen Dunbar", who killed not 1, but 2 people in 2000-2001. Both of these wrecks were within 6 months of one another, and where is he now? I can tell you where he is not....he is not in prison, where he belongs. He killed 2 people, and he was driving under the influence when both accidents took place, yet he only sevred a 3 yr sentence. He got a 1-5 for one death and a 2-10 for the other....people are not going to think before they drive while high or drunk, unless the judicial system makes an example out of people like Christopher Dunbar and anyone else who would choose to drive while intoxicated. How can something like this happen? How can somebody murder 2 people and pretty much get away with it? Any thoughts on this?
