Dispatchers Say Man Struck with Object
A West Virginia State Trooper was able to get to the scene of some sort of argument quickly because the incident happened just a few hundred yards from the State Police Headquarters in South Charleston.

SOUTH CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A West Virginia State Trooper was able to get to the scene of some sort of argument quickly because the incident happened just a few hundred yards from the State Police Headquarters in South Charleston.

Dispatchers don't have much information available right now. They tell WSAZ.com that a man was struck by some sort of object.

The call originally came into dispatchers in Kanawha County as a shooting.

Both the South Charleston Police Department and State Police were on the scene along Jefferson Road.

I thought all crime only happened in Charleston? I thought South Charleston was like Heaven.

It was good a trooper was so close so he/she was able to be at the scene in short order. But, just because one is close to a state police detachment office, doesn't mean that a trooper is necessarly there. Most of the time, you will find them where you'd expect them to be; on the roads, partoling.
