CABELL COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- The Cabell County Board of Education held a drug testing orientation Thursday night at Huntington High School to discuss how the drug testing program works with interested parents.

Participation in the random drug testing program is mandatory for any students from grades 7-12 who want to compete in extra curricular activities, or who get a parking pass.

School administrators hope random drug testing will not only keep kids clean- but also give them an outlet to say no.

There will be another orientation on August 18th at 6:00 p.m. at Cabell Midland High School.

I think that the drug testing is a great ideal, any parent can sign their child up to be tested reqardless if they drive or play sports. I think the teachers should be tested as well, i don't understand how it could be illegal to test them and not be illegal to test the children. I would not have a problem with being tested and I don't think anyone who doesn't use drugs would either.

Teachers should be tested for drugs. Correct me if I am wrong but isnt the teachers employed by the state? Why is it that all DOH (department of highways)employees are drug tested randomly. They are employed by the state. So whats the differnce?
