Huntington High basketball star OJ Mayo is not with his team down in North Carolina.
Mayo's ejection during Friday night's game meant he could not travel with his teammates when they left Sunday morning for Duke University.
Head coach Lloyd McGuffin wouldn't comment on camera, but he did say, "O.J.'s staying here." Meanwhile late Sunday night, sources told Newschannel 3 that Huntington High will appeal and possibly taking legal action as early as Monday.
Mayo got two technical fouls at Friday night's game against the state's number two basketball team Capital.
West Virginia High School Basketball rules say when a player gets two technical fouls, the player must sit out the next two games.
Tuesday the team is set to play Artesia at Duke. Friday the team takes on Kentucky's number one team, Scott County.
