WVU Student Charged in Deadly Crash Pleads Not Guilty

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A WVU Student charged in a deadly accident in Charleston pleaded not guilty in a Kanawha County court room Friday afternoon.

Kevin Jackson of Charleston is charged with misdemeanor DUI causing death.

Prosecutor Mark Plants says Jackson was driving the car that crashed June 20 on Oakhurst Drive. Jackson's friend, Willy Shuman, was killed in the accident.

Shuman was a George Washington High School graduate and was set to begin his career at the U.S. Air Force Academy.

Jackson also graduated from GWHS. He is now a freshman at WVU.
