CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) -- Three lawsuits against West Virginia American Water Co. could cost the utility more than $2.5 million.
On Oct. 1, a Kanawha Circuit Court jury awarded a former 23-year employee $1.75 million. James A. Nagy accused the company of age discrimination following his March 2007 termination.
A former company president was awarded $107,802 following an Aug. 28 summary judgment in Boone County. Chris Jarrett alleged the company delayed paying him $35,934 under its long-term incentive plan. Jarrett retired in 2006, after 36 years.
West Virginia's largest water utility settled a billing dispute with Cabin Creek contractor Tralyn Inc. for $693,602.
The company said it was disappointed with Nagy's verdict and was considering its options regarding Jarrett's judgment.

watch our water bills go up to pay for these! As if utilities weren't high enough already...
It won't cost the utility anything. It's the utility customers who will end up paying for it.
