ORIGINAL STORY
HUNTINGTON, W.Va (WSAZ) -- Police officers responding to a suicide call were sent running Saturday morning, when a man opened fire with a shotgun.
Around 2:00 a.m., police were called to a home in the 1300 block of East Campbell Park Drive in Huntington.
The call was originally for a suicide threat. When police got to the home, they approached the front porch.
That's when the man inside the home started shooting, and sent the officers running back to their cars.
Police began calling to the man on a loudspeaker, and eventually were able to calm him down.
In all, that man fired 5 shots. No one was hurt. No charges have been filed at this time, and the man's name has not been released.

I have met Adam on several occasions. I dislike him for some things that occured during the time I knew him, but I still think this is very sad for him. I hope the justice system will serve him honorably, and I desperately hope he gets the help he needs. Good luck, Adam, my prayers are with you. As for the responding officials, I am thankful that none of you were wounded.
Wow, you're right, we don't all know Adam. All I know is that there was time to think about his actions between when he called 911 and when the police arrived. He had time to think when he reloaded his shotgun, unless I'm wrong and they hold five rounds. Did he consider that other people could have been where he fired? What if someone was completely uninvolved and one of those five unaimed shots hit them? I haven't been told what he shot at but bullets ricochet and carry farther than can always be predicted. Why didn't he think ahead or think twice before even purchasing a gun? If you knew Adam and cared, did you bother to get him to get rid of the gun? Where were you? I don't think I want this guy in military training with a gun. For those of you who think guns should be legal, you're right. I would never suggest any other thing.
Okay I'm wondering. These people who are posting things like they've known Adam for years and tell us he is NOT what we thought he was, are you friends? Former friends? And if so, why are you cutting Adam down in the way that you are? So what if he had issues. So what if he made a mistake. So what if he's not perfect. So what? And why post by annonymous? If you know him as well as you say you do, are you ashamed to know Adam? I don't know Adam that well but I worked with him and I was shocked when I heard the news. I agree, he needs help but only a FEW of us know the ENTIRE story of what happened that night. You should not judge. You should not stigmatize Adam without knowing, even if you THINK you know. If he needs psychological help then support him and hope that he does. It's stupid to pass judgement on a guy who made a mistake and undoubtly regrets it and has remorse. We should support Adam, not condemn him.
