A school bus was hit by a large tree Monday afternoon, sending the driver and an aide to the hospital.
No students were on the special needs bus at the time of the accident.
It happened on secondary Route 26 between the towns of Twilight and Bandytown -- that's near Van. The road was shut down for several hours Monday while crews cleaned up the mess.
We're told the bus had just dropped off students from Van Jr. and Sr. High School, and was on its way to pick up students at the elementary school.
No word on how seriously the driver and aide were hurt. They were both taken to Boone Memorial Hospital.
Check out the pictures below sent in by our e-reporter.

Thank God the ladies will be okay and that no children were on that bus. Looks like more than one tree. I'd like to see more pics of the roots and base of the tree.
it looks like 3 trees...?
Glad to hear the driver and aide made it out of that alive. Thanks goes out to all who assisted these ladies.
