UPDATE: Wednesday, 11/11
LOGAN, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- There are new developments in the criminal case of a man who wandered away from a rehabilitation center, fell into a river and died.
David Milon's body was discovered on November 3.
He was in the care center following a fight where he received a massive head injury on October 3rd.
State Police in Logan say Jere Morrison is the man who got into a fight with Milon and caused that head injury.
Morrison is 18 and from Logan.
He was arrested Tuesday night and brought back to West Virginia from Tennessee.
According to State Police, Morrison will not be charged in connection to Milon's death. He will only face charges stemming from that fight in October.
UPDATE @ 6:30 pm
LOGAN COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- While authorities wait to confirm an identity, one family says they already knew they'd lost a great man in their life.
The family of Charles Milon, known to most as "David," says his body was found in the Guyandotte River Tuesday morning.
Milon went missing from the Logan Center around 10:30 p.m. Monday.
Officials with the center say they discovered he was missing during their regular night rounds. They immediately did a room-to-room search of the building and the grounds. Police were then called in to help with the search.
More than 45 people helped out with the search overnight. State Police brought in search dogs to help track the man's scent. Just before 10 a.m. Tuesday, someone made a grim discovery.
"We got the call from 911 that city workers from Logan had located the body in the river," said Roger Bryant, director of Logan County Office of Emergency Management.
The body was found in the water under the Middleburg Bridge.
For Milon's family, there are a lot of questions.
"My first reaction was how could this happen? He was supposed to be in secure facility," said Milon's brother-in-law Richard Danish. "I don't think I'll ever understand it. I don't know if they'll ever be any answers for all of it."
Milon had been at the Logan Center for about a month. He was recovering from severe head trauma.
His family says Milon worked as a cook for P.R.I.D.E. for more than a decade. The organization helps out low income families.
"The elderly people loved him," Danish said. "He would even sneak them extra portions, and he wasn't supposed to."
Jimmy Justice, the Logan Center administrator, released a statement saying, "Our hearts and prayers go out to the family during this difficult time. We are cooperating fully with the police department as they conduct the investigation."
The body has been sent to the State Medical Examiner's Office for an autopsy. The Logan County Sheriff's Department says the case remains under investigation.

I would like to say it is hard to find nurses and aides, staff period! that will work in long term care, most want to go to hospital settings. The work load at a hospital is 10x less than at a LTC facility. Rather than 6 patients to 1 nurse there are 30 patients to 1 nurse. Need I say more. Do not down long term care facilities. They have come up in the world. Everyone always thinks they are a place to die, which is not true anymore!! LTC facilities do more rehab to home than rehab to HOME (dying).
Well Jamie, as a long term care nurse, I would like you to know that I am competent, have very good nursing skill, as well as critical thinking skill. But my reason for working in long term care is because Geriatrics is my preference. And if you think that we dont have to use these skills to work in these facilities, well you should try it before you down it. And in these skilled facilities all nursing skills are ineffect. Try having 30 very demanding patients needing your attention a one time, Can We Say STRESS. Thank you RN,BSN
'cry me a river'.. first, let me explain to you that they arent charging jd with murder because what he did to this man DID NOT kill him. he injured him. he didnt kill him. secondly, yes hes had opportunities to get clean.. but when you have no family or SOBER friends that support you in your decision & you make such great progress then they dump you right back into the drug head little town.. what progress can anyone expect you to make? none what so ever. so no, i dont hear the worlds smallest violin playing. what i do hear is a closed minded person talking horribly about someone who they have no idea anything about.
