ATHENS, Ohio (WSAZ) -- A man facing murder charges in the death of a woman from Meigs County has pleaded guilty to a lesser charge.
Steven Dougan pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter Monday in the death of Crystal King of Pomeroy, Ohio.
King's body was found in a burned out car on Chase Road a few miles south of Athens back on February 11th. Dougan also pleaded guilty to aggravated arson, tampering with evidence, and abuse of a corpse. He was sentenced to 13 years in prison.
Athens county prosecutor C. David Warren says Dougan admitted to accidentally killing King during an argument -- shoving her and causing her to hit her head on a car door -- fatally injuring her.

I unfortunately knew this excuse of a man. It was far from an accident! She was amazing, funny, and a wonderful friend I can't share good times with anymore. Never will I see her smile, laugh, or toss back a beer on a summer night. He has no value on human life plain and simple he's stated it before and proved by murdering his best friend. I hope the voters remove the waste that calls himself a judge. A blind deaf man could have seen the death penalty all over this at least life. 13 years? Every felon in the world needs to face that judge.
