HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Carrie Lykins is in Jamie's Kitchen, trying to find something new to cook in her own kitchen back home.
"Have you ever had a leek? I haven't either," Lykins said. "I'm always looking for something new to cook because I feel like I cook the same things all the time."
Jamie's Kitchen is located across the street from Pullman Square in downtown Huntington. Right now, it's a working television sound stage.
Jamie Oliver, known around the world as the "Naked Chef," is filming part of his realty show there. For the past few months, Oliver and his crew have been trying to start a "Food Revolution" with the goal of getting Huntington out of the negative spotlight of being the fattest city in the USA. That was a label given to Huntington in an Associated Press article based on data by the CDC a few years ago.
The cooking classes at Jamie's Kitchen are free. All you have to do is register, and you're good to go." Stacy McChesney is a Huntingtonian who's running the place.
"The people who are cooking in the kitchen now, if they have a positive experience, and they do, the food is tasty and delicious, they come back again and they bring friends," she said. "Things are spreading word of mouth right now."
Once Jamie and his crew pull out of town, the kitchen will be turned over to Ebenezer Medical Outreach, which is hoping to keep the stoves on and refrigerators running for a new wave of cooking classes. That won't happen until after Dec. 1.

Jamie's Kitchen on Facebook.
Jonathan Sutton's been following Oliver for about eight years now, watching his TV shows on the BBC. He's been coming to the cooking classes and loving every minute. He says, "I love his cooking. I just want to incorporate more of that into my life and lifestyle to eat healthier and a little better."

Hey Johnathan! Way to go!
I went to the free class. I made a salmon dish. It was not something I would eat every day ,but it was fun to learn something different. I've met Jamie Oliver at a fund raiser First Baptist Church Kenova. He is a down to earth sweet guy. If, you can, I suggest you try this free cooking lesson out ,OK!
