The only thing nice about these shows are the deals that the dealers make with the locals. For example, suppose your rich Aunt from NY leaves you a few gold coins in her estate. Obviously, you don't know a Kruggerand from a Kangaroo but it looks shiny and it says 1 oz on it so you run off to the pawn shop or drive over to the local coin show to make a few bucks on it while gold is still high. They've got your number as soon as you step up to the booth and lay down those coins. They pick them up, look them over and say I'll give you $600.00 a piece for them. You think WOW and most likely you say ok or you say how about $700.00 and they say, $650.00 and before you know it; you have a pocket full of money and they have gold coins that they can turn right around and off load for near spot prices on the market, on e-bay or with reputable dealers and collectors. Right now, you should be getting about $1050.00 to $1075.00 for a 1 oz gold coin. Don't let these buzzards rip you off!
