COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - Advocates say large budget cuts to Ohio's
adoption services will hurt the 3,000 children in need of a stable
home.

The state budget approved by lawmakers and signed by Gov. Ted
Strickland in July cut $43 million - or 40 percent - from adoption services.

Services including financial assistance and recruiting and training for parents who adopt have all been cut.

Greg Kapcar of the Public Children Services Association of Ohio and other advocates covered the steps of the Ohio Statehouse Friday
with hundreds of photo frames designed to represent children who
they say may not find a home.

Two state lawmakers are sponsoring a bill to restore $8 million of the cuts.

shame on you. how can you say a woman with a huge heart with little cash should not adopt. raise me in a crappy trailor with no colledge money, and yardsale clothes. Please remember to praise me often, help me learn , make good choices and as long as you love me. I believe that is what a child really wants. Sounds to me like your priorities are very very misplaced.

Are you really that ignorant? If you have to have the state help pay for you to adopt then you can't afford to.
