CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) -- A federal judge has rejected a Mingo County mother's claims that immunizing her daughter would be a health risk and a sacrilege.
Jennifer Workman filed a lawsuit in April seeking to force Lenore Pre-K to 8 School to admit her daughter without state-mandated immunizations.
Workman's lawsuit said she was concerned that her daughter could develop autism. The lawsuit also said the immunizations would Workman's religious beliefs.
In a recent order, U.S. District Judge Joseph R. Goodwin says there's little evidence to support claims that standard vaccinations aren't safe.
Goodwin also says West Virginia doesn't allow a religious exemption to immunization of schoolchildren.
Workman's lawyer, Patricia Finn, says she plans to appeal the ruling.

I think it funny, how blindly people will follow pharmaceutical companies. Statistics in Japan have shown that there is a direct correlation between rates of autism and vaccine rates(google it). Recent research has also indicated that there may be a genetic "flaw" carried from the mother onto the child and immunizations create the right conditions to create autism. Until we have definitive evidence of what vaccines do to the immune and nervous systems, this should be a CHOICE. Every day we witness cases in which pharmaceutical companies withhold and suppress information from the public, NEVER forget that fact. We also see the continued climb in recommended vaccines to children; this is a business with a billion dollar price tag and will be defended as such. At the end of the day, we just don't know what all the ramifications are and it is a gambled risk to decide either way, which is precisely why parents must choose what they deem best for their children.
TO (Posted by: Wake Up on Nov 12, 2009 at 12:01 AM) I AM educated. I work in a hospital and I have passed my board of registry with high scores. So, DON'T tell me to educate myself. I KNOW the facts. I have had the Hep B vaccine and I work with hep patients. I know that these vaccine save/ and have saved my life. I also know first had the victims who have NOT been vaccinated. I was comparing MILK with VACCINES to put a better perspective out there for those who don't quite understand that not vaccinating in fear of a reaction does more harm that not vaccinating. I have tested HUNDREDS of nasal flu swabs DAILY and know that BOTH flu vaccines have helped to save my life. Kids being transported to ICU units because "the little flu bug" has taken ahold of them... and the parents didn't or couldn't get them vaccinated. Search the debilitating results that COULD happen from NOT getting vaccines. Viral encephalitis can cause brain damage and seizures.
First off, the Judge is IGNORNANT. His knowledge on vaccines, I could put in a thimble. His source of info is from the very people who are spreading the disinfo and misinfo, including the myopic MDs, who shouldn't be ' practicing' medicine. I woulda motioned to ' File an Exemptory Challenge' in that court and got another Jurist to hear the case. At this point, I'd certainly appeal and possibly get another Lawyer, who knows the ropes. If possible, I'd home-school and would not send to Public / Gov't controlled schools. Or...Send to ' private school'. Gov't is outa control on this Swine Flu debacle. Its all about CONTROL and $$$$. Whats IN the vaccines is the potential problem. The data, past and present is irrefutable. The Public IS in danger, especially by Judges who have no business forcing anyone to take a vaccine [.] The Judicial System IS Broken.
