HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A rash of vehicle break-ins continued overnight Monday in Huntington.
In most cases, the thieves smash the vehicle’s window, and then steal loose change or other very small items that are in plain sight. They do not search the vehicle for more expensive items.
Tuesday morning, Huntington Police were taking reports of at least three break-ins in the 16 & 17-hundred blocks of 6th Avenue.
Over the past week or so, more then two dozen vehicle owners have reported similar smash and grab break-ins.
According to these police reports, many of the break-in have occurred along 6th and 8th Avenues.

the very sad thing is i know one of the people doing this and have reported them and they did this last year around the same time of year. i can not list a name here because when i do they will not post! i have told the police many times yet they do nothing! this person is my neighbor! what do i do! sick on it!
I live on 5th Ave between 3rd & 4th st. My car was broken into last summer while sitting along 5th Ave in front of my Apt. They took my bookbag, which sucked b/c it had lab material in it but not too much of a loss. I started parking in the lot behind my apartment, which unfortunately has an alley running behind it. My car was broken into again about 2 wks ago. They smashed the window but stole nothing since there was really nothing major to steal. But, had they looked a little further they would have found a digital camera stuffed down in a pair of snow boots. These criminals are just as dumb as they are pathetic! My insurance paid to have my window replaced. I'm not out anything, but those people will have to answer to God for what they've done! If I didn't work in Huntington & go to Marshall I would move in a heartbeat! Huntington is going downhill fast!!
they broke into my cousins jeep, pulling the window out,and for what 6 dollars in loose change.i have an idea,in texas if we need to protect ourselves, others or our property, you have the right to shoot.please break in to my car!!!i have new beams, need to test them, thank you for you support!!!
