West Virginia Fish Farm Gets Attention in Washington
The fight over mountaintop removal has been making news for some time. Now there's progress to report at abandoned mines in Southern West Virginia. Now the cold water from one abandoned mine in Mingo County is shaping the future of fish farming.

The cold water from one abandoned mine in Mingo County, West Virginia is shaping the future of fish farming, and it's getting attention in Washington, D.C. Thursday Commerce Secretary Carlos Gutierrez visited the fish farm near the town of Pie.

Guiterrez says it's putting West Virginia ahead of the curve in aquaculture. To put the aquaculture industry into perspective, in the United States it's a one billion dollar industry -- worldwide that number increases to eight billion dollars.
