CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A man working on the roof of a Charleston store was accidentally shot Wednesday morning.
Sgt. Eric Hodges with the Charleston Police Department tells WSAZ.com that 36-year-old Robbie Stewart of South Charleston was working on a surveillance camera that was mounted on the roof of Young's Department Store, which is located on the city's west side. It happened at about 9:55 a.m.
Hodges says Stewart reached into a cubby hole area on the corner of the building when a gun believed to be placed in that area went off, and he was shot in the upper-left shoulder area. The gun was a Titan 25 pistol -- and investigators believe someone previously placed it in that cubby hole.
Stewart was taken to the hospital where Hodges says he is in stable condition. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening. Stewart was in surgery, though, as of 4:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Police are still investigating the circumstances of the incident and plan to talk with Stewart after he recovers. The shooting is believed to be an accident.

This sure has been a crazy week in the tri-state. I have never in all my years heard of this many shootings and killings in the same week from Carter County Ky to Charleston WV and in between. It's almost like there is some weird karma going on around here. Probably wouldn't be a bad idea to start being a little more nice to people, it just might save your life.Guns don't kill people, the bullets do.
hmmmmmmmm some thing is not right with this story how did the gun get on the roofand how did it really happenthat he got shot in the chest.hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
He was not a roofer he was installing the camera so there isn't any surveillance to watch yet.
